So saddle up and check out what we have been up to.
A few weekends ago we ventured out to Mel's Country Cafe. It has yummy burgers. This quaint lil burger joint in a hard-to-find area of town was packed with people. The atmosphere was so fun.
My Cowboy was trying to take a picture of the wall where many people have attempted to eat their biggest burger. The names are to the right of the picture behind the man in blue.
Surprise it's picture time with a mouth full of food!!
The Food Network was there just a week prior to us visiting.
I've also been painting. I saw this on another blog and thought I had to do it. I found an old ladder.
{Side note: I apologize now to my uncles for ruining a perfectly good, workable ladder.}
Back to the story: I sanded it, stained it Ocean Blue, and varnished it. I plan to place it in my garden so my green beans or tomatoes can grow on it. I'll blog a finished picture soon
{Again, I apologize for the attire and minimal make-up or lack there of} HA!!
My yummy oatmeal cookies I made for hubby one evening after work. I was going to place them in a beauiful bowl and take a wondeful "photography" picture but they didn't last that long.
Another creative moment. We were at Lowe's and I found these baskets for $20. I placed them in our laundry room to hold old towels and sheets for the outside plants. OH my word, it makes a HUGE difference. It's so much better than having towels tumbling down on top of you.
I am open to new and creative ideas for the house, gardening, and for anything you would like to share.
I hope everyone has a wonderful and creative weekend.
I am in a creative funk...the weather. Is it Spring yet?
ReplyDeleteMels does have some good food!!! I love their fried mushrooms!!! I bet your ladder turned out great!
ReplyDeleteYour baskets look great! I will have to remember that restaurant,my in-laws try and eat at every place they can that has been featured in Texas Monthly or Texas Highways!
ReplyDeleteI've been to Mel's, that place is great! I plan to make some cookies with the girls the afternoon, yours look so good!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed looking at your blog. Those cookies look yummy! Great idea to use the baskets. I love finding new ideas for storage/organization. It seems to be a constant thing I'm working on.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend!
First....WHERE ARE MY COOKIES!? You made cookies and didnt share with Preggo?!
ReplyDeleteSecond... I roll our bath towels (like they do at a spa) and place in a basket next to the bath tub. A fancy way to store and have some close by!
Good job on decor-- keep it up!
Hey Courtney! I just was browsing my Fidjit cause I like seeing where people visit from. With that said I hopped on over here and was gong thru some of you posts again. Mels Kept ringing a bell and it dawned on me where it was!! We have been there too! Its been awhile but I do remember the banana pudding was to die for and the men had to go for the burgers! The burgers were the whole reason the men folk wanted to go. Geez it has been like 6 yrs since we last were there. I am thinking maybe a Mels visit is coming up!;)
