I Heart

I know Crystal is enjoying the summer time with her family but I just had to do my own "I Heart" today. I love reflecting on the week.
I heart my relaxation time.
I heart that we will enjoy some time with my family this weekend.
I heart that we have been blessed with our plentiful garden this year. I have lacked in the photo department but it's nice to complain about my full veggie drawers in the frig.
I heart that a wonderful blogging friend, Pamela said that she entered the Hen Pal Giveaway at Life on a Southern Farm and said she would give it to us if she won. Although I know her boys would love it. You are too sweet girl.
I heart the blogging friends that I have met. You gals ROCK!!
I heart my Cowboy and Remington. But they know that, ha!!

Father's Day Weekend and a Giveaway

Our weekend was busy and we missed seeing my dad.

Saturday morning we set out on a drive to Crockett. We met My Cowboy's dad and Brenda there. We didn't have our camera but who would want to see people sweating, HA!!. Oh my goodness it was so hot up there. We enjoyed riding 4 wheelers, working outside, eating yummy food and enjoying the company.

On Sunday we were to see my dad but instead my family decided to have another Father's Day this weekend for my dad. They were so considerate about our driving all over Texas (or at least it seemed like it) Cowboy and I were happy to get our life back to normal once we got home and even enjoyed a nap, HA!!

Now I have the laundry to prove it and to think we were only gone overnight.

Last night while watching HGTV's Design Star during a commercial they have a moment to live for or a best moment of the day. (I forgot what it is called, oops) They review a great moment for one of the contestants. I asked my cowboy what his best moment for the day was and he said it was our drive. HA!!! Mine too. I love driving with my Cowboy. I told him we need to plan a vacation this fall to just drive around Texas. There is so much to see and do; we always find so much to talk about.

I would love to end our days asking one another what our best moment was. Sometimes we just need to think about those little moments. Or maybe we have just made another family tradition.

I know what my Cowboy's best moment is for today....I just entered Life on a Southern Farm's giveaway for

Fingers crossed that we win!!!

The Farmer's Wife

What's a Cowboy to do when his garden is very plentiful??

CAN IT!!
Like I have said before we have had alot of luck with squash and cucumbers this year. I think our neighbors and family are tired of us bringing bags full of veggies. Cowboy and I decided to seek the advice of books (thanks again, Melodie), the internet, and two wonderful grandmother's on how to can and pickle our cucumbers. We also took the advice of a few nice "mature" ladies in the aisles of the store.
Round 1

Round 2
(The jar turned pink from the purple onions I threw in : )
We have 24 jars. YUM!!! We froze the squash.
Come on tomatoes and peppers, momma is a canning machine!! Or a great farmer's wife, ha!!

Low Tide High Style Giveaway

Our Relaxing Weekend

After so many busy weekends we were thankful to have a relaxing one.

On Thursday Melissa, Meagan and Natalie came for a visit to our house!! I get so excited to have guests come see us. It was nice to catch up with Melissa and have a glimpse into a future with kids. The girls played at the house and then we went and ate at Julio's in Rosehill (outside of Waller). It was so good and the wait staff was WONDERFUL to us.

Meagan, me and Natalie

Cute Meagan. She showed us her skill of singing at the restaurant. She loved the Dwight Yoakum songs the most!!

For the first time in a long time, we had a weekend with no plans!! My Cowboy and I decided to enjoy a dinner and a movie on Saturday. It helped having gift cards to both places, HA!!
We had lunch at

It was my turn to choose the movie.
Letters to Juliet didn't start until later in the evening.
Killer started in an hour
However, Prince of Persia started in 20 minutes!!! YEAH!!!
It was a good movie and it wasn't too bad seeing Jake the whole time. We enjoyed the movie since we have played the videogame. The videogame was Cowboy's pass time while I worked on getting my Masters.
On Sunday we worked in the garden. We pulled out our squash and planted more tomatoes. We've even tried out canning and pickling. But I'll save that for another post.
This week and weekend are going to be very busy. We're glad we got to relax. Don't you just love those kinds of weekends??!!

Show Us Your Life-China Patterns

Kelly at Kelly's Korner is hosting Show Us Your Life-China Patterns today. My future sister-in-law and I are very lucky because we had our china patterns before we took the marital plunge, ha.

My parents received two china patterns for their wedding. One was my mom's choice and the other was a gift from my dad's co-workers. Before I left for college my brother and I chose which one was ours. However, it really wasn't difficult to decide.

My brother's choice for my future SIL, whoever she may be. I hope she likes it. But who wouldn't.

And mine. I love roses. Our wedding had lots of pink roses at it. It's like my signature, ha!!

When My Cowboy and I got married we chose a fiestaware by Sango. I love it because it is timeless. I can dress it up or down with accessories. It goes with anything. But most importantly, I didn't want anything that said, "You were married in 20??". I wanted it to be something that changed with the times.

It is wonderful to know that my parents started a tradition that will be carried on through the generations. I love being able to know that now I have two patterns that I can share with my children.
