A Weekend of Gardening

With less than 11 days to go in the arrival of Miss Kendalyn we thought it would be a good idea to get our garden going. We know once our baby girl is here we won't have much time to get dirty.

The herb garden is up and going. The cilantro, mint, thyme, sage and rosemary are vibrant.

We added a flower bed with dahlias, gladious, and roses. We thought it would be perfect for our baby girl. The flowers should be in full bloom in late spring/summer.

A new addition to our gardening is a peach tree. Peach pie, peach jelly...anyone??!!!

All the rows are tilled for planting

We also added an apple tree. It's two trees in one because you need more than one apple tree to produce, however we aren't quite ready for an orchard. I absolutely love the different shades of pink blooms. I'll have to take another picture when the blooms are open...GORGEOUS!!

The herbs
sage

rosemary

mint and cilantros

We added a bunny rabbit, a butterfly, and a dragonfly to the herb garden. It's all for the baby girl.

My Cowboy planting the first row of potatoes.
Sweet potatoes are one of the first solids that Kendalyn can eat so we hope to have a bumper crop of them : )

And of course Remington is always around to lend a hand.

And here is proof that I was there too. Not as helpful as in years past but someone had to tell Cowboy what to do, HA!!

We hope you had a wonderful weekend. We have a dr. appt tomorrow and we can't wait to see what she says!!

Bullet Points

We are getting down to the wire on welcoming Kendalyn into the world.

  • We had a trip this weekend to Babies R Us for a few things we needed off of our list.
  • Everything in Kendalyn's nursery is in order. Clothes are washed and things are organized.
  • Cowboy has been working in the garden. We are busy getting fruits and vegetables planted.
  • Our bags are packed for the hospital.
  • I have an appointment on Tuesday to see the doctor. I am excited to see what she has to say. With these Braxton Hick's contractions this past week the doctor better tell me that something is happening.

Thank you for all of your comments. You are so kind. I can't wait to continue down this new trail with you.

Our Weekend

Our weekend was anything but relaxing. Although we did enjoy it.

Organizational Chaos

I spent the weekend organizing what we have received for Kendalyn.
I guess I'm nesting.

I apologize for the hair, make-up and clothes. I was workin' : )

A drawer full of onesies.
We can change her every hour
if we want to for the first few months.

While I was inside, My Cowboy and
furry baby were working outside.
Therapeutic Work

I can see it now...Remington and Kendalyn following Daddy around.

We are getting the outside ready for the garden.
I can't wait to make baby food from our veggies.
If you've made baby food, please send your words of wisdom.

I had a baby shower at work (pictures to come)
They gave us a lemon tree to plant and to watch it grow with Miss K.

Hope you didn't have a
"SOUR" weekend!!!

Our Baby Shower

My mom, aunts, and cousin hosted a family/friends baby shower on Sunday. It was a beautiful day. I loved spending the day with everyone as we anticipate the arrival of Kendalyn.

There was lots of yummy food.

Signs of love from all

My cousin Elena. She was such a helper. I just love this little picture and I can't wait to see her, her sister Mallory and Kendalyn playing together soon.

And only Daddy's girl needs a pillow like this...

My Aggie gals...Shayanne and Melissa came. I was so excited to see them. This summer will be so much fun. We've turned into the Aggie Gals Plus 5!!!

Mom, me and my aunt

This was just a tidbit of fun we all had.
We are getting so much closer to being ready for Miss K. We appreciate our family and friends for all that they have done for us. We know that Kendalyn is one loved little girl.

Checking Things Off the List

First off, thank you guys so much for all of your wonderful and sweet comments you have given me during my pregnancy. Y'all have made this pregnancy even more enjoyable. An extra smile to my day has helped.

Things are coming down to the wire for the arrival of Kendalyn. I've been focusing on one topic and then moving on to the next.

We have found a pediatrician.

I feel so confident knowing that this doctor will treat our daughter as a patient and not as a way to get more money from the insurance company. I received a questionnaire from a friend of mine at work and it was so detailed. I asked lots of questions and really got to know some "interesting" doctors. Now we feel assured that we have made a great choice for us.

And...

We have our own Mary Poppins to watch Kendalyn when I go back to work in August.

I gave her a little interview as well, HA!!! Again, I feel confident that we have made a good choice in finding someone to watch our little girl.
We have baby showers coming up and I'm excited!!!
The next thing on the list is to pack our bags for the hospital. Any suggestions will be appreciated!!??!! Kendalyn's coming home outfit came in this week and it is cuter in person. I love it.
And finally, today is the first day that I have experienced Braxton Hicks. I know TMI but I want to remember all of these things for years to come. So bare with me : )
