Weekend of Fun!!

We had an eventful weekend.
We had to have a picture of the baby!!!

Getting ready for Spring Fun!! This is a wide shot of our backyard from the front gate.

We built a chicken coop for our 1o feathery babies.

I am so proud of my Cowboy. We woke up with absolutely NO idea what in the world we were doing. We put our minds together and created one AWESOME lil coop!!
Most importantly, the total cost was $4.09 for staples for the staple gun. We used things we had lying around.

Cowboy was taking camera phone pictures to share with his dad and brother. One happy boy!!

I was certainly there too!!!

We had a birthday celebration for my dad.

His fav...angel food cake.

A birthday card from the kiddos. It said ...Love, Cole, Courtney and Jason
Oh and Remington too. He loves his Pa.
Now dad can get something for himself or the yard. It will probably be something for the yard though. He loves his plants. That's where I get this from.

Dad and I
Dad, me and Cole
Happy Birthday Dad!
We love you!!
We are so glad that this week is a 4-day week because of Good Friday and Easter. We can't wait to sit back and finally enjoy all of this.

All better Now!!

Thank you so much for all of your well wishes. These 24-hour bugs are terrible. I did get much better when I received this package.

Since I have been making the floral hanging baskets I decided it needed something to help keep it watered AND it had to be SUPER CUTE!!! It works like the Aqua Glass Waterers but this fits me perfectly!!

I found my collection : ) (I'm not partial to Messina Hof in Bryan at all...thought you would like that Christa)

The finished product...well the flowers need to grow some more but you get the idea.

It's My Turn...

to get bitten by the
Sick Bug

It wouldn't be so bad if it had hit last night or early this morning BUT NO it hit at 9am when I have 20 7 year-olds eager to learn their lesson. They were surprisingly so sweet about it.

I hope this doesn't last very long...I'm tired of being friends with the porcelain bowl.

No pictures...Nothing to Write Weekend

I spent all of last week blogging!! I loved checking in on Blog Friends and joining in on some blogging fun. I enjoyed it and wish I could be a professional blogger (do they have such a thing? i don't think i am really that interesting, ha)

Then the weekend came....

Saturday was absolutely depressing. It rained and rained. How could a beautiful Spring Break end dreary?

Sunday was cold and windy. We drove out to the Play Pen Ranch (My Cowboy's family ranch) and visited with family.

And my camera is still broken, ugh.

So that is why this post is pictureless and there's nothing to really write about. However, I am excited that in about 44 days it will be the SUMMERTIME!!! WHOO HOOOO!!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. AND I sure hope I never have another Debbie Downer post again, HA HA!!!

This is how we do it-Weekend-Part 2

This is how we started our Saturday.

We had to pull up the fall harvest of carrots, lettuce, and onions. We still have turnip greens and cabbage growing.

Cowboy is tilling up the garden. We pulled up the old fencing to expand the garden. We'll put up the new fence later this week.
Hubby's Jan./Feb. project was to repair this tiller. He worked hard to get it going. I am so proud of him.

This is what Rem does when we work, HA!

I decided that the fence posts needed a paint job. I used my blue stain and went crazy.
Cowboy was grilling so I decided to mow the grass. I talked about it here.

Pictures of our work in progress can be seen here.

I just got back from the nursery. I can't wait to show you what I got!!!

Weekend Recap-Part 1

Spring is in the Air!!

My hanging baskets. This was an idea I found in a magazine. This is how they start the baskets at Disney World. Let's hope they turn out just as good.

The Grapevine

The Blueberry bush

Cabbage from the fall garden
I spent today putting away green onions and lettuce.
(Hubby is walking out of the kitchen complaining about how our refrigerator stinks...Hello, have you seen our drawers full of onions.)

Our Spring Garden
We have expanded and added some new beds. Remember the ladder I was painting in a previous post...well here it is in the garden. We planted cucumbers and they will grow along the ladder.

We are working to complete the garden and we can't wait to see the final product or produce, HA!

In other news....our wonderful family is moving from a family of 3
to

a

family of

13
The Williamson farm is growing in leaps and bounds.
We are so excited to see what the spring has in store.
I have been apprehensive to have the chickens but when our 3 chickens last year started producing farm fresh eggs it was so neat. Now with the 10 new chickens I might be giving the eggs away!!
We planted potatoes, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, carrots, corn, and so much more. We can't forget about my herb garden. Mint is growing EVERYWHERE so we had to cut it back. We have basil, lavender, dill, and oregano. I'm going to the nursery tomorrow. HHHmmmmm, wonder what I will find??!!!!

It was a Wonderful Weekend with a booboo

My Cowboy and I spent the weekend outside. We were getting our garden ready with a few extra projects up our sleeve. I took lots of pictures.

Until.......

Hubby decided it would be neat to take a picture of me mowing the grass. Yes, I mow and I love it!!

And then.....

She hit the floor!!

We think it is minor but you never know.

Leave me a comment and tell me something that you like to do that may be out of the ordinary. I seem to be the only chick down our street that mows grass with the men. I don't think that is so weird.

Weekend Recap...a little late

Last weekend we enjoyed the HLS&R and My Cowboy's Birthday.

At 6am on a SATURDAY!!! I was up by 4:30.

8AM: Cutting Show
Jason's family has cutting horses. They have participated in many events over the past years. They also compete in team penning and sorting.

Cutting is judged on the ability of the horse to separate a numbered cow from the herd, hold it away from the herd in the middle of the arena and then pen the cow. This is a 2 1/2 minute timed event.
Courtesy of NVRHA

Jason's dad and Brenda joined us.

Me and the Birtday Boy!!

This lasted a few hours so by the time it was over it was lunchtime. We "snacked" on turkey leg, fried bacon, and BBQ baked potatoes. We wanted to try the fried ice cream, and fried meatballs but we had no more room.
For all inquiring minds...fried bacon tastes just like regular bacon. It's battered and isn't greasy like you would think.
We walked off the food with some shopping : )
Later that evening we attended a ranch rodeo. Teams came from around the USA to compete. A 4 man team completes different rodeo events. The combined lowest score from the 5 different events wins.
The Bellville Heritage Cowgirls started the show. I didn't know Bellville had this and I grew up 15 minutes away from there.
This 10 year old young lady sang the national anthem. After she was done the announcer said, "Well folks that's our show". She was A-Mazing!

This is just a few shots of the MANY I took.

Bronc Riding

Steer Wrestling

This cowboy rode so well (in the above pic) but he busted it. He got right up and did a little dance. So cool...gotta love those cowboys!!

We got home by midnight. We were exhausted.
Sunday was busy as well. Cowboy's birthday lunch with my family. Dad, Mom, and Cole came to our house. We enjoyed some Mexican food from our local hangout.
Can't tell we were at the rodeo for 16 hours??!!!

We loved being with family this past weekend to celebrate a wonderful man. He means the world to me and I couldn't picture my life without him.
