Our Weekend

We spent the weekend working on things around the house. So while we cleaned...

Someone decided to get dirty!!!

Cowboy was working on the flowerbeds in the front yard.

Remington was helping too. He is carrying the branch in his mouth. It's not lying on the ground.

Taking the branch to the pile.

Or maybe just play with it.

My Cowboy did such a great job on the yard. It just makes me want spring to get here sooner.

When daddy wasn't watching Remington was playing in the ditch.

Gotta love that face.

And then he didn't want anymore pictures taken, HA!!

Our dirty dog

Although dirty, he's still our wonderful lil buddy. He will be 2 next month. We have loved these two years with him.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend with the ones you love.

Neighborhood Playgroup Baby Shower

Our neighborhood playgroup hosted a baby shower this past Saturday. There are 4 ladies that are pregnant with girls due around the same time.

Me and Kendalyn, Michelle with Sydney, and Amber with ????
Nikki is the other lady but was unable to make it.

The babies have onesies from cafemom.com

The yummy cake

Getting advice from the other mommies

Food

Games

Goody bag from Pampers

Great gifts

The group will also provide meals for us when the babies are here. This was a last minute change instead of bringing them to the shower like originally planned. So I didn't have to make 3 others meals at one time, Thank God.

Just me : )

I had a great time and I am glad to know that we have wonderful families around. What a wonderful gesture for this soon-to-be new mommy!!

We'll Welcome Our Baby Home.....

in this precious outfit.
I ordered this outfit online and will be
waiting by the mailbox until it comes in.

It's getting close and our Kendalyn will be here soon. The small preparations for her arrival are getting set and how she arrives to her new home is VERY important!!

We have a doctor appointment tomorrow for an ultrasound. We can't wait to see her.

Wanted: Advice!!

Here's the Background Story: Our neighborhood playgroup is hosting a baby shower for 4 women who are having baby girls in March. (How cool is that!!!!) I am included : ) and totally excited about this awesome gesture.

The baby shower is a no gifts required shower just a great opportunity to meet the group members. However, there has been the idea of giving all 4 ladies covered dishes to freeze and have available to serve when the baby comes.
What a great idea so that we don't have to worry about cooking : )

So here is my question...do I bring a covered dish for the other 3 ladies?
What kind of dish should I bring? What freezes well?
Do I give a gift to the other ladies?
Do I give a gift to the ladies that are hosting the gift? This is a sponsored shower.

What would you do?
Your thoughts, ideas, and
knowledge is GREATLY APPRECIATED : )

A Family Visit

Happy Birthday
Grandma!!!
We love you.
We enjoyed a visit with her on Sunday. She was excited that we sewed Kendalyn's bedding and can't wait for her arrival. Back in the hay day, Grandma was an amazing seamstress. Maybe some of that rubbed off on me : )

We also had a visit from Cowboy's family.

We appreciated Pawpaw helping out on a few things around the house.

It was a great weekend with family.

Winter Garden

Our lives haven't just revolved around this precious gem here on the farm.

We did plant a winter garden. It's full of spinach, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, swiss chard, lettuces, and brussel sprouts.

We have been harvesting periodically for an evening salad. Tonight we harvested a bit more. This is better than what you get at the grocery store.

We had 3 5 gallon buckets heaped full of veggies. Winter gardening is the best....just plant and watch grow.....Oh and reap the rewards ; )

And I have to share a funny story about our furry baby. When I took out the camera for the pictures of the vegetables I had to get one of Remington. I called him over, he sat, and .....

SMILED!!!

After the camera flashed he stood up and walked away.
We just love him to pieces. We can't wait to see how he reacts to his sister.

Miss K's Nursery Update!!

A dear friend, Keri, came to the house on Sunday to add some finishing touches to Kendalyn's room. She handpainted the quote on the wall and made the frames for her name.

We will forever be grateful to her for
making this room perfect for our little girl.

First we had each other,
then we had you,
now we have everything.

We added K's name to the iron work.
It is even better looking in person.

Our next step is to hang other things on the wall
and then we will be done....I think, HA!

Let's Start at the Very Beginning...

I'm going to start this post at the beginning so that I will know what happened when I look back. So bear with me...

On Monday, we started back to work after the Winter Break. You can imagine the J.O.Y. that was.

On Tuesday, we had a pretty normal day.

Wednesday was my 30 week milestone!! I woke up with nausea, etc. I figured it was just a third trimester morning sickness. Um, No...I could not keep anything down. Stubborn me went to work since I felt fine but nothing was staying. I was very scared I would get dehydrated and have to go to the hospital or worse K would come. I didn't realize how many muscles you use. God Bless the women who are sick their entire pregnancy. Luckily, it was about a 24 hour bug.

And I was even nice to share with my Cowboy because....

on Wednesday night, he got sick.

Here are my 30 week pregnancy highlights

How far along:
30 weeks
Size of Baby:
She is the size of a head of cabbage.
Total Weight Gain/Loss:
13 pounds
Gender:
It's a Girl! Kendalyn Nicole
Movement:
Definitely. Especially the day I was sick.
Sleep:
I'm getting use to my sleep pattern.
It's not the best but tolerable.
What I Miss:
Sleeping on my stomach
Cravings:
Jello Fruit Cups
Symptoms:
Aches and pains, here and there
Best Moment of the Week:
My doctor's appointment on Thursday.
I got to hear K's heartbeat.
We have a "date" for K's delivery (nothing set in stone yet)
Registered at the hospital
We will get to see Little Miss next Monday. I can't wait.

Back to our week...
On Thursday my Cowboy was home from work sick with the 24 hour bug. I went to my doctor's appointment.
Friday was the Cotton Bowl. I got a new Texas A&M shirt when I went to College Station over the holidays. I also found a cute outfit for Kendalyn.

I can't wait for next season.

Next fall will be amazing. I will get to share with Kendalyn all of the A&M traditions.

Unfortunately, we lost the bowl game to LSU but next season looks so promising. WHOOP!!!

And now here we are at the weekend. We are spending time completing different tasks around the casa and most importantly putting the finishing touches in this room.

It is coming along nicely and I can't wait to share.
Well, I think that about covers it. I hope this week is a bit calmer.

Nursery Update

My Cowboy and I have been working on Kendalyn's nursery for some time now. You have seen bits and pieces of it coming together.

Here is the finished product!!!

The paint is Bella Pink. To make the shiny stripes, Ralph Lauren's Candlelight was used.

There are a few finishing touches we need to complete. So stay tuned for that!!
"They" always say that whatever you are doing on New Year's Eve/Day is a good indication of what your year will be filled with. Well, our New Year's Eve/Day consisted of baby girl's nursery. We really don't mind at all that our year will be filled with her : )
