A Trip to the Aggie Vet

Last week My Cowboy and I took our furry baby to the Aggie vet. Remington was scheduled for his 1 year check-up (yes, we are a bit late) and we were concerned about a possible infection of some sort near his ears. These pictures were taking with my iPhone so the quality is not too good.

Remington is in the room. He would not get on the scale. It took My Cowboy and the nurse to set him on the scale; all 91 pounds of him. He has lot some weight which made us concerned too. However, the doctor said that he is growing into his adult body. Sniff, sniff, not our baby.

Remington did tell us what he thought about the place when he peed on the wall. I doubt he is the first though.
***Remington was not hurt in any way during the visit to the vet.***
It took 2 nurses and the doctor to give Remington his shots. They were all covered in Remington hair, ha!!

They even decided to shave the sides of his face under his ears to let the possible infection clear up. They are not sure what it is so they gave us 2 different medicines to heal it. All of his examinations and blood work showed a healthy boy.
He heard his momma telling him he was a good boy and he had to look for me. So cute. We think he thought we left him with these people but not us. We pushed our way in there. The doctors and nurses were so nice. They probably think we are crazy.

Our sweet baby was fine when it was all over. He got lots of treats and went to sleep as soon as we got home.

It's A Hodgepodge Friday!!

Definition of Hodgepodge:
odds and ends, a motley assortment of things

I found this old ladder and stained it blue. The idea was based on trying to find a way to have our cucumbers grow up onto something in our garden.

It was stained and varnished so that it would be weather resistant.

The ladder today. It is doing quite well.

Who says your garden can't be a work of "heart" in more ways than one?
Thanks for stopping by.

I Heart

Crystal at You and Me Plus Three always hosts "I Heart" Thursdays.
Here are mine for this week:

I Heart

1) my Cowboy who is taking off of work early today to assist me with taking Remington to the Aggie vet.

2) having this week to completely relax while everyone else is still in school. HA!

3) having the time to drive out to the PPR yesterday all by myself for a lunchdate and shopping with Mrs. B.

4) that tomorrow I will try to be a Domestic Goddess. I have lots planned and wonder what I can accomplish : )

5) that God brought us some rain last night. Our veggies love His water.

6) that I get to have my hair done today, YEE HAW!!! This Domestic Goddess will look HOTT!!!! HA

And finally

7) my cousin Aaron who is graduating from High School this weekend. We are so proud of him.

A Trip to the Big City

I was going through our camera and found a couple of pictures from our trip to Houston actually Midtown a few weekends back. I have been dying to go to Tafia which is a farmer's market. We were so disappointed. They had about 5 booths. Hello, what was I thinking? How can "City People" have a farmer's market better than us "Country Folks"?

So instead we decided to get out of our horse and buggy and venture out in the big city. We stopped here....

The entire store was filled with sequins, rhinestones, and everything you needed to make a prom, wedding, or any other type of fancy dress. Then in the v.....e.......r......y back was the cotton section. My Cowboy kept asking where the camo material was. That was a negative.

Then across the street was the High Fashion Decorating Store.

Everything there was amazing.

We had dinner at Habaerno's. They had good food and it was an adventure. I asked the man three times what we were eating so that I could blog about it. But do you think I could remember it now? NO, sorry.

We do love going out to the "Big City" every once in awhile but I still love our country life with my Cowboy and furry baby.
And with that being said, I need your help, in a good way. My blogging friend, The Cowgirl Lawyer, is getting ready to marry her Cowboy very soon. She wrote a great post on "Loving a Cowboy".
Alright my Cowgirl sistas, saddle up and give her some words of wisdom.

Memorial Day Weekend

Our family had another wonderful weekend. We enjoyed time on the farm and with family and friends.

We hung Old Glory.

And showed our patriotic side

We enjoyed an early morning walk and afterwards a nice soak in the water.

Remington is not spoiled at all. Oh No!

We enjoyed riding on our 4-wheeler.

Many times

Our garden is continuing to grow. This weekend we had a great harvest. That's a post all on its own.

Here are my cucumbers climbing the blue ladder.

Check out our corn. It is now taller than me.

Some of the silk is starting to come out.

The herb garden is doing great as well.

Here is our second eggplant. We took one to mom and dad's this weekend.

We ended our weekend at a Memorial Day party at the neighbors. The family hosting it will be having a going away party for the dad later this week. He is being deployed to Iraq next Friday. This is his second tour of duty and he will be part of the last group to be shipped out to Iraq before we start bringing everyone home. It was such an amazing time to be able to see what this holiday is truly all about.
We hope you had a wonderful weekend too!
