We woke up at 5am. Missy did too. I figured if we kept her on her schedule, just a change in time we could have a successful trip. AND it worked.
We had breakfast and loaded up with a ready for a nap kiddo by 6:30 a.m. She slept during most of the trip.
We knew we wanted to take her to the West End Beaches. That's where many of the families stay and you can drive up on the beach. All she could say was water.
We figured we'd get out for those photo ops and then spend the rest of the morning playing in the water.
1st time in the ocean....saying water.
Alot of seaweed has moved onto the shore like it's everywhere. But that didn't stop us or Kendalyn from enjoying our time there.
Splashing in the water with daddy.
Her smile never left her face.
We did ride the waves together as a family.
And enjoyed a long walk on the beach.
She was so excited to tell me about the water.
We tried to build a sandcastle but there wasn't a way around the seaweed.
And searching for seashells wasn't an option.
We tried to get Kendalyn to touch the seaweed but she did not go for it : )
Her first splash in the water and there were many more after that.
Mom, this water tastes funny : )
It got to be time for lunch and so we headed down the seawall to the Galveston Strand. We ate at Fisherman's Wharf, another fav of ours. Kendalyn enjoyed eating seafood and watching the boats drive by.
We took a walk on the Strand afterwards. The Strand has many shops and fun places to check out. A longtime fav is the Olde-fashion soda shop. Kendalyn absolutely loved the mechanical horse. Isn't this face not priceless, it summed up the trip for us.
We all had a fabulous time and can't wait to go back again : )
looks like a perfect day! i love, love her face on the horse :)
