God's Workings

I don't have an elaborate quote or a beautiful picture but just a thought.

The storm may drop rain on your house
for hours and hours
and flood the area within sight.
But once God breaks opens those clouds
and lets the sun shine through,
you never know what beautiful things you may see.
Many people know of our struggles that we have had this summer. We feel everyday that God brings us closer together. We often wonder when we will see the light at the end of the tunnel. Today, we saw a slight beam of light coming through that tunnel. God works in mysterious ways.

Weekend Catch Up!

We had a busy weekend with my birthday and the trip to Galveston. Maybe now I will be caught up with all the pictures.

Saturday afternoon (Birthday afternoon) we met with mom, dad, and Cole at my favorite restaurant, Alecia's for mexican food. I WARNED Jason not to have them sing "Happy Birthday" to me. Well....unknowingly....MOM goes to the restroom and informs the waiter it was my birthday. After dinner, we ordered sopapillas and I told the waiter it was my birthday and NOT to sing to me. But what comes skipping right along, ALL the waiters with my sopapillas breaking out in song. The poor waiter told me it wasn't his fault but hers, pointing to my wonderful MOTHER!!! And I always thought she was on my side.

Poor Jason didn't even know what to think that he didn't get a pic of the waiter putting whip cream on my nose. LOVELY! So here is a picture of us before we left to to see dad, Cole, and my Mother, HA!

After church on Sunday we relaxed. I was driven to BOREDOM!!! So this is what we did for Sunday Fun!! Playing with Remi Huds!!!

The big baby

Eyeing Jason instead of seeing me. My arms were really that red from Friday at Galveston.

Chillin'

No more pictures, please!

Playing with the camera settings......

Trip to the Beach!

My Cowboy and I decided that we needed a trip, BAD!! So we packed up the car and drove to Galveston, OOOOHHHHH, Galveston on Friday. It may not have been Cabo but it was relaxing and fun. We woke up a 4am because hubby HAD to go fishing.

Get ready for picture overload!!!

Oh yeah, it was also Remington's first trip to the beach and boy did he have fun!!!

Can't tell that we have been up for hours!!

This was at 6:30 a.m. Rem and I were standing on the shore while Jason went wadefishing.

The man with the white hat was parked next to us. He laughed because Remington was having a fit that Jason was in the water.

This was where Remington sat and barked until daddy came back to us. He was so upset he couldn't go that far out. Poor baby!

Once Jason came back Remington was up to his normal business.

Checking out the waves.

Remington learned to jump before the waves came.

Getting tired.....

Jason did manage to catch one 11'' trout. Throw back

We left Galveston when it started raining but not before we checked out our favorite spots, The Yacht Club, Fisherman's Wharf, Bacchus, and the Strand. We spent so much time there last summer before Ike. We will have to go back before summer is over and catch up with our Galveston friends.
SSSSSSSSOOOOOOO sunburnt, ugh! (fake smile, lol)

Dirty Thirty!!

Bold Happy 30th Birthday Mommy!!
My mom is having her birthday today. I am so happy. Yesterday we went to the beach. Mom will post about my 1st trip later but today is all about her. This morning I heard my cousin Gavin and Uncle Jacob sing "Happy Birthday" to her. It was early and I was STILL sleeping!!! Daddy made mommy breakfast and then she had a Day at the Spa. She came back so happy and wouldn't let me lick her toes, I don't know why??!! Grandma Mimi, Paw, and Uncle Cole is taking mom out to dinner tonight with daddy. I am going to miss them. My mommy is the best. She is like a fine wine, she gets better with age, hehehe.

Happy Sweet Sixteen Shelby!!!

OK so no one wants to share their birthday with anyone...especially family!!! LOL!!! My uncle Larry had no control over Princess Avery making her big debut on his birthday. But I know he didn't mind at all because her mommy is his GodChild, ha!

When my aunt Sharon told us she is going to have a baby in July, I never thought she would be born on the 25th. I was the one that hoped and prayed she wouldn't be born on MY DAY!!! And so the story goes Shelby Nicole was born on July 24th and not on July 25th ....THANK GOD!!! HA!!!

My beautiful cousin Shelby Nicole is celebrating her Sweet Sixteen Today.
Our family is known for the middle names of Nicole, HA!

We love you Shelba!!!!

Update

Jason and I want to thank everyone for thinking and praying for us. We got a call yesterday that Jason should know more about this job opportunity by the end of the week. Praise God we are still in the running...I mean Jason-HA.

I have to take my final Administration exam on Thursday. It is so hard to study with so many things on my mind.

As for Remington, he is growing so much. His body is huge but he still has his puppy face. We had to move him to the 50+lbs. puppy food and he lost 3 baby teeth over the weekend. We have 2 of them because they fell out onto Jason's hand. Lord, only knows where the third one is. I will post pictures soon. Jason wants to save the teeth in a puppy book??!!!! Do they make those things?? HA!

What a Week!

I can't believe it has taken me this long to blog. WOW!!! However, it has not been an ordinary week. 4th of July was great. We enjoyed having my parents out for some great hamburgers. We then visited our neighbors for fireworks. FUN!!! On Sunday we decided to relax but it didn't go as planned. Jason's boss called him and told him he was laid off. Yep, that's right and one of the reasons I haven't blogged. We are still shocked and have no words to explain or to know what the future holds. Jason spent Sunday evening talking to family and friends and I was online figuring out the unemployment option and revising his resume. No time to waste. Monday we sent out about 8 resumes and Jason got a call THAT evening. YEA!!! I had a class on Tuesday and Wednesday so Jason was at home getting his portfolio ready for an INTERVIEW on Wednesday!!!! It went very well and the travel time was not bad either. Jason should know something this Monday. This weekend I am having Jason complete his honey-do list. I've got to keep him busy.

I found this quote on Monday after Jason heard that he had an interview; it is so true.

Life is a roller coaster. Sometimes you're at the top of the hill feeling good. Other times your heading for the bottom feeling totally out of control. Life is full of things that are hard to handle, but you can get through them.
We are praising God daily to help us in this situation. We are in need of guidance, strength, and patience. Nothing prepares you for life's twists and turns. We are taking things day by day. We know that many people are praying for us and it is appreciated. (tear)

I was caught & Happy 4th

During Father's Day weekend I was caught picking out of the garden. Yep, this is me ready to go see my daddy. Dress and All! For some reason Jason gets a kick out of these pictures.

We are so blessed to have our garden and for all of the things this country so graciously provides for us. On this 4th of July, we will sit in our backyard at our house and reflect on what we have.
Happy 4th Of July!!!
And
God Bless America!!!
