Summer Fun-Day 2

Day 2 was Try It Tuesday!!!

Kendalyn and I went out and made our own pottery piece.  Details of the piece are under wraps and will be revealed soon ; )

My only question was why did I take a toddler to a pottery place.  T-R-O-U-B-L-E!!!  I'm glad they were having a pottery class and many of the ladies gave a helping hand to keep little Missy occupied.

We came home had lunch and a nap.  During naptime I made playdoh!!!  Whoop! Whoop!!

K woke up from her nap while the playdoh was cooling.  She kept saying hot.

Me and my girl!

OK Shanna, when did Avery start the head to the side pictures.  Think they are related  : )

Then we tried the playdoh.

So not sure about this mom!  Thank goodness the playdoh will last up to 6 months in a sealed container.

This girl will get dirty in the mud but it's baby steps with the fingerpaint and playdoh.

Then she was ready to hand it over  : )

Our meal for the night was Hawaiian BBQ Chicken (Pinterest).  It was good over a bed of rice.  You can make it in a crock pot....even better.

It was Day 2 of the Daily Cleaning Calendar.  I must say I did a dance through the house when I finished cleaning for the day (even doing some of Monday's chores) before the sun set for the night.  Day 3 is toilets and tubs, Yee Haw!  I am excited about this, not the toilets and tubs part, LOL.  I hope to get the schedule down to a fine art before work begins again.

Summer Fun-Day 1

We are in full summertime mode and with that comes mommy and me fun, learning time, DIY projects and so much more.

Today was Monday-Make something day.

Kendalyn made her first painting.

I used an edible fingerpainting recipe I found on Pinterest.

I'm glad I did because it did go in her mouth a few times.

She wasn't sure about it at first but then she loved it.

I also worked on 2 DIY projects during nap time that I will be sharing soon.

We also sang lots of songs throughout the day.  Her favorites are Row, Row, Row Your Boat and Jesus Loves Me.

Mommy is working on her organizational skills. I found the Cleaning Calendar on Pinterest, of course.  It's a great way to keep things organized around the house and not so overwhelming.

Miss K and I even spent the afternoon...pool side.

And when this painting was finally done....mommy turned to get another piece of paper and ......

Ta Da!!!

Look mom....I can fingerpaint on my table  : )

Got to love it!!

We even made Scooter's Spaghetti from...where else....Pinterest.
It was like a spaghetti lasagna.  Hubby said it looked like a crater on Saturn.

Everyone loved it.  We even had to take Kendalyn outside to hose her down.  Girl can eat some spaghetti  : )
For my future reference:  It was easy to make.  I could even make it on Sunday and keep in the frig. when I am ready to bake it.  Something great to freeze for a family and it makes alot  : )
I plan on posting our summer fun everyday.  I want to remember these precious moments with my girl.

Memorial Day Weekend 2012

We had a wonderful weekend together at home full lots of fun.  We figured we wouldn't dare fight the traffic and crowds with a very busy toddler.  We will have plenty of summer weekends for that.

We ventured out to our neighborhood pool all three days.

Our little swimming diva

She loved swinging after a swim in the pool.

And she always explored with daddy.

After a good nap, she enjoyed dress up time.

She was so animated when I got out the camera...wonder why?!!  : )

She is a little mess

We had to pause dress up time to watch Tangled.

And for a dramatic finish she threw off her hat.  What a look  : )

My little ham.

And throughout the weekend we never forgot the reason why we could enjoy a wonderful weekend of family time.  Thank you Veterans.

Our weekend

This weekend was very low key and we enjoyed some good family fun.  We ran errands, relaxed and played in the pool.

On Sunday we went to our neighborhood pool and park for some swimming time and playtime.  Kendalyn has always loved the water and this time was no different.  She had so much fun.  Daddy has had many years in swimming so he is teaching Kendalyn many things.  We think she will be a swimmer by the end of the summer.  She holds her breath and kicks like a pro.  Last summer daddy taught her how to blow bubbles in the water and she remembers!!!

After a long nap  ; ) daddy decided to set up her swimming pools.  He does so much for his baby girl and she loved it.

We did have a wardrobe change but I didn't take a picture of her first swimsuit.  She looked adorable.

Checking it all out.  She played and played.

While us ladies lounged around by the pool, (LOL)  daddy played in his garden.  The garden is doing well this year.

My herb garden.  I said one day I wanted blooming flowers and herbs everywhere.  This year we succeeded.  The flowers are pretty much done blooming in this pic...but you get the idea.  I love looking out every morning to this beautiful sight.

How does your garden grow?....
Swiss chard and eggplant

Our first cucumber!!!
Every year we have plenty of cucumbers, squash and zuchinni but this year we lots and lots of tomatoes and none of the other.  Blame it on the weather??!! Hmmmmmm

The big garden full of who knows what, ha ha!!!  We shall soon find out.  More tomatoes, melons, beans, ?, ? , ?  ; )

Peppers, squash, zucchini

I saw a sign the other day at HobLob that said, "This is your last chance to BLOOM!"  We so feel that way  : )
