A Picture, 2, or 3

We are adjusting to life as a family of 3. We've had the help of my mom the past couple of days and she has been a lifesaver. It will be fun to see how this weekend goes ; )

Here's a few shots of Miss K when we were leaving the hospital.

Love this face

And in all this madness I forgot to post a picture of my cousin Shanna with Kendalyn. Shanna was a Sunday visitor : ) Her daughter Avery was at home so we are excited to have Avery and Kendalyn meet for the 1st time.

Kendalyn and I had our first outing today. We are both in need of a nap so I will be posting about it soon. : )

The Birth Story

Friday night I was experiencing some sort of contractions but they weren't like what I had experienced before....Go Figure.

Saturday morning around 3am I woke up with labor pains/contractions. I wasn't sure at this point. I started timing them...in the dark writing the times down...so that my Cowboy could get a good night's sleep for his birthday. Remember this was our last weekend together and his birthday. The contractions were very random.

I called the hospital around 8am and they said drink water and that would help. It did for a few rounds. So we decided to start organizing things, pack up, and head out.
Turning off the TV all preggo and Ready to GO!!!

One last Baby Bump pic...38 weeks and 3 days.
We arrived to the hospital around 1pm. I was already dilated 3-4 cm and we were staying!!!!!
Got my epidural around 5pm

At 6pm I was 6 cms dilated....and the pics stopped. Kendalyn's heartrate dropped and the discussion of a c-section started. The nurses turned off the pitocin but her heartrate was never where they wanted it to be.
Things were looking better after an hour or 2 and everything started up again. The nurses checked and we were at 10 cm at 10pm. We started to push and Kendalyn's heartrate dropped and we found that she was not coming out correctly and there was a possiblility that the umbilical cord was around her neck or too short.
I was wheeled in for a c-section at midnight
Miss K made her debut at 12:31 a.m.

We had lots of family there for support and anticipating her. Everything worked out well and we have a healthy baby girl.

We are so proud to be her mommy and daddy.

Our first family picture. Not what I had planned but I wouldn't change it for the world.

We had found out that my doctor was on vacation over the weekend halfway through labor. However, in her place she had asked for the head of OB/GYN of the hospital to take her place. He was perfect for us and helped us to understand what was going on. He would talk to me and hubby and then would talk to the family. What a special man.
Update: Hubby's birthday is the 5th. Kendalyn was born on the 6th. She was trying to make it in time to sing Happy Birthday but she made her own debut.

Sunday visitors

Kendalyn saw lots of family on the day of her arrival. Once everything settled down everyone left and mommy, daddy, and Kendalyn got some much needed rest.

We were excited to have our Sunday visitors.

School Shower

A few weeks ago I had a shower at my school. It was a co-shower for myself and Jennifer who teaches Kindergarten.

My team member, Diana, made a coursage for me. It was adorable. The roses were pink socks...so cute.
A few of Kendalyn's goodies

Ready for presents ; )

We received a lemon tree for the yard and attached were gift cards to Babies R Us. We were able to get the items that we did not receive from the family/friends shower. So amazing. There were many other neat things that we received as well.

This was a book that my team member, Laura, made. Inside was "words of wisdom" from all of the faculty at the school. This is something that I will treasure and use always.

My beautiful cake....yum!!

I have had the opportunity to share my pregnancy with Jennifer. She had baby Claire on March 1st. I know Clarie and Kendalyn will be great friends.

To top it off, Kendalyn may be sharing a birthday with Jennifer. : )
And even better Jennifer shares a birthday with Barbie

We received our travel system. Now we can bring our baby girl home.

My team...Laura, Joanne, me, Autumn, and Diana...minus Jill

Thank you to my wonderful team they did an amazing job and to EES for all of the wonderful gifts. We are truly blessed.
