It's Pizza Time!!

Last Friday Kendalyn and I took a trip to town.  (HA HA! Love saying that.)  We ran a few errands and then I called Hubby to say I was going to stop and get a pizza.

However, Hubby's idea was to make a pizza.  We ended up spending the entire weekend perfecting our pizza making skills.

Our homemade thin crust pizza.  We tried a think crust or I should say a Basic Pizza Crust and it was just a bit too much.

Our homemade pizza sauce all from our garden.

We only stopped at the store for Canadian bacon, turkey pepperoni, pineapple and purple onion.  We made alot of pizza and even tried a calzone in the end.

YUM!

Mother's Day 2012

Did you realize I haven't posted about Mother's Day???!!!!

Surprise!!  We had a photo session to capture my 2nd Mother's Day.  This was also Spring and Summer family pictures..  So enjoy a few pictures as I recap the weekend.

On Friday I had a mani/pedi....all by myself.  Yep, my Cowboy kept my girl for a couple of hours ALONE!!  WOW!  That was rare.

On Saturday I got my hair done and enjoyed lunch with my mom.  I didn't get a picture from the day because we were talking about my little brother and his wife having a baby.  They did a really cool surprise to tell my parents.

Then on Sunday we woke up to take family pictures.  I must say taking a picture with a then 14 month old or for that matter.....Take a picture of Miss K has turned out to be a real chore!!!  Ugh!

Half of the pictures we took are of us wrestling her down.  I hope and pray that in a few months when we take pictures again she will be settled down or our Christmas card will be very interesting  ; )

I sure did enjoy a wonderful weekend but every day with this little mess is wonderful.

I'm so proud she calls me "MOM"  : )

DIY Project #1

This summer I have a few projects I want to tackle for the house.
I started with a easy one.

I took an old mirror I found at my parent's house.

Pulled out the glass and sanded it down.
(Sorry the pic is sideways but you get the idea)

I spray painted it flat black

I roughed it up to give it a distressed look.  I also hung twine with two clothespins on the back.

VIOLA!!

A great place to hang my girl's artwork.
I also hung a "K" hook for her backpack, etc.

I love this area for her.  I thought that the stars were too hard to see so I think I will add some turquoise to jazz it up a bit.  : )

Summer Fun-Day 6-9

Wow, this week has almost come to an end but where did it go?!!!

I must admit K and I haven't left the house much this week...kind of like not at all.  ; )
It's been nice to play at home with my girl.  We enjoyed lots of dress up time, exercising in the mornings, play-doh time, long naps in which mommy was able to organize the house, and some pool time.
Enjoy these pictures from the week!

Girl loves her jewelry.

She tried on mom's flip flops.  She thought she was so big.

And she helped me cook

LOVE THIS FACE!!!!

Pawpaw is coming this weekend so we dusted off our cowgirl boots.  We haven't worn them since K really started to walk.  It was hiliarious to see her walk in them.

I asked my Cowboy how in the world did he learn to walk in those.  He just laughed.

And when a cowgirl has on her boots...she has to ride her horse.

It is getting so hard to take her picture.  She is always on the go.  Hope this phase ends soon, we have Christmas pictures to take in 5 months!!!!  LOL!!!

We have a very busy Father's Day weekend planned.  We are excited to see both dads this weekend.

1st family beach trip

This past weekend we went to Galveston Island.  We wanted Kendalyn to see the ocean for the first time.  My Cowboy and I love driving out to the ocean especially since we spent many of weekends there thinking about what it would be like to bring our children there.

We woke up at 5am.  Missy did too.  I figured if we kept her on her schedule, just a change in time we could have a successful trip.  AND it worked.

We had breakfast and loaded up with a ready for a nap kiddo by 6:30 a.m.  She slept during most of the trip.

We knew we wanted to take her to the West End Beaches.  That's where many of the families stay and you can drive up on the beach.  All she could say was water.

We figured we'd get out for those photo ops and then spend the rest of the morning playing in the water.

1st time in the ocean....saying water.

Alot of seaweed has moved onto the shore like it's everywhere.  But that didn't stop us or Kendalyn from enjoying our time there.

Splashing in the water with daddy.

She loved it and loved seeing the pelicians and seagulls flying around.

Her smile never left her face.

We did ride the waves together as a family.

And enjoyed a long walk on the beach.

She was so excited to tell me about the water.

We tried to build a sandcastle but there wasn't a way around the seaweed.

And searching for seashells wasn't an option.

We tried to get Kendalyn to touch the seaweed but she did not go for it : )

Her first splash in the water and there were many more after that.

Mom, this water tastes funny  : )

It got to be time for lunch and so we headed down the seawall to the Galveston Strand.  We ate at Fisherman's Wharf, another fav of ours.  Kendalyn enjoyed eating seafood and watching the boats drive by.

We took a walk on the Strand afterwards.  The Strand has many shops and fun places to check out.  A longtime fav is the Olde-fashion soda shop.  Kendalyn absolutely loved the mechanical horse.  Isn't this face not priceless, it summed up the trip for us.

We all had a fabulous time and can't wait to go back again  : )

Summer Fun-Day 4 and 5

A pictureless post................

On Wednesday night we had a crazy wind storm that knocked out our power, cable and internet.

The power came back on pretty quick but the cable and internet didn't come back on until Friday afternoon.  UGH!!!!!

Day 4-Takin' It Easy Thursday
Missy and I spent the day watching movies.  We even watched some Christmas movies ; )
To make it even better we ate leftovers from the previous days.  For her birthday I made Slow Cooker Pizza and Miss K loved the pepperoni.  It was a yummy recipe.

Day 5-Freedom Friday
With no technology we had to escape and went to see Yaya at work.  We did some shopping and had lunch with her.  That evening we had a Splashpad Birthday for Addie.  We didn't stay long because another storm came through and K was missing her daddy.   Luckily, we had power when we got home but there were lots of limbs that were down on the roads.

After the wildfires from last summer the trees around here are like sticks and the slightest winds create a big headache when they hit the power lines.

And to make an even more exciting fiasco, I dropped my iphone again.....I had the origianl iphone for 5 years and never dropped it.  Now when I get a new one I drop the thing twice in 6 months.  I have switched back to my Oldie Goldie and am waiting for another upgrade in a few months.  I am hoping to get one of those Otter Boxes for Christmas....hint, hint Hubby  ; )

Wow, we have had an exciting 1st week of summertime!!!

Summer Fun-Day 3 and Happy 15 Months!!

Wednesday was Wild and Wonderful Birthday Celebration!

Our girl turned 15 months old!!

We ventured out to the mall and checked out the Disney store.  Missy loves Minnie Mouse and so we got her a Minnie swimsuit.  I let her roam free in the store and she had a blast.

Then we went to Babies R Us for another sippy cup.  I think we have every cup imaginable and still no success

until......

I found this one

It's a Tommee Tippee with an actual drinking straw.

It's not that she can't drink out of the cups, it's just that she gets frustrated with the difficult sucking.  She's ready to drink.  Cowboy and I have tried out the cups and we would get irritated too.

Me and the birthday girl!!!
We had a great day shopping : )

At 15 months:
You wear size 12 or 18 month clothes
Size 4 1/2 shoe.  You are on your way to a size 5 shoe
Size 5 diapers.

Words you say:  door, up, down, light, Elmo, Abba for Abby Cadabby, MMMMMM for Minnie, apple, nana for banana, ear, eye, nose, hair, this, that,  and bottle.  You repeat everything we say and pick up words we say like a sponge.

You can show and name your body parts.

You are a little fish in the pool.  You can hold your breath, pick up things under water, kick your legs, and swim back and forth from mommy to daddy.  People are amazed at the things you can do.  Plus you have saved us lots of money on swim lesson ; )  Daddy is teaching you everything you know.  He won't admit to it but he was a swimmer as a young boy...like winning trophies, ribbons, swim team and all.

You climb on everything and you are not afraid of anything.
You are a stinkin' mess.  You are very silly and such a joy to have.  You are too smart for your own good : )

We love you monkey!!!
