Birthdays, Birthdays, They're So Fun!!!

Thank you for all of the birthday wishes!!

As a dear friend put it....

Hope your birthday is filled with

slobbery kisses,

toothless smiles,

and sweet snuggles.

And it was!!

It was a great birthday to spend with my Cowboy and my Sweet Angel.

The month of July has been filled with many birthdays. Miss Kendalyn even attended her first birthday party!!

Meagan and Natalie's

2nd Birthday!!

My friend Melissa and her husband Matt had a wonderful Mickey and Minnie birthday party for their girls. It was so fun.

Sweet treats

Sweet girls

Miss Kendalyn even enjoyed dressing in her Mickey and Minnie outfit.

Kendalyn thought she was such a big girl because she was trying to scoot down off of my lap and play with all the kids. If she did get to the ground, she can't go anywhere....yet. She also did not want to take a nap. Usually she falls asleep in the car when we travel but not this day.

Checking out the Paaaarrrrrttttyyy!!

Shelbee was giving Kendalyn hugs. Sweet friends.

I can't wait to see these girls soon. We always have a great time.

How does your garden grow?

Great especially when you have a Texas drought

and you didn't even plant the seed.

Over the weekend we were scanning the garden to see what is OK and what is not doing so well. We find beautiful yellow flowers and this nestled away in the vines.

This beautiful cantaloupe is so orange and juicy. A few seeds must have survived in the compost pile when My Cowboy added it to the garden. We love finding these little surprises.

It's My Un-Birthday (lunch)!!

Don't you love celebrating your birthday when it's not your birthday??!!! It's the best. On Sunday we went to my parent's to celebrate my birthday and my future sis-in-law, Katie's birthday. My birthday is July 25th and hers was on July 7th.

I received a teacher clipboard that Katie made and a picnic blanket. But of course the cash was the best!!

I love that Katie and Cole already have their wedding registry up. It was easy to pick out Katie's birthday gift, haha. Christmas will be a cinch for them : )

My birthday cake with 2 candles on it. Oh mom, your so kind ; )

Katie's cake had 5 candles on it. It was a fun joke all day.

My parents spent most of their time on the floor with Miss K. Kendalyn showed off her rolling over skills for them and grammy was so excited.

It's funny how Kendalyn loses her bow and shoes at Grammy's to "relax"

Kendalyn even got some Great Grandma lovin. It was so fun to watch them play. They even had to take a water break.

What a great day with family!!

Family Time

iPhone photos continue....Man, I didn't realize how much I had on there.

Kendalyn and I took at trip to see my dad (grandpa) and K's great grandma. She got all dressed up in a cute dress.

Here's K before we left. It was the week she found her hands and of course her dress, HA!!

Meeting great grandma with grandpa.

We also went to see Aunt Lolo.

Every girl needs some pampering.

Aunt Lolo was checking out Kendalyn's curls when her hair is wet. Aunt Lolo thought she was the only one in the family with curls : )

Aunt Lolo was telling Kendalyn how she can fix her hair...or was that for mom??!!

Checking herself out in the mirror. Kendalyn loves mirrors.

All done!!

Kendalyn had a great time hanging out with family. She got alot of attention and who doesn't love that!

Baby Food Makin'

More iPhone uploads.....

Because we are having this Texas drought our garden has kind of been a hit or miss this year. We have squash and green beans. It seems like the veggies that grew so well for us in year's past aren't doing so well this year. There won't be any canning or pickling this year.

So instead we've decided to make baby food.

We had alot of green beans. I snapped the ends and boiled the beans.

Put them in my food processor to puree

And I made baby food : )

My Cowboy asked if I tasted it...um, yeah, it tastes like green beans!!

I froze them in small storage containers and I will add breastmilk/formula when I am ready to feed her the beans. I have found where she can eat them between 8-10 months. I can't wait!!

I did the same thing with the squash we grew. Currently, Kendalyn is eating apples and bananas with rice cereal. We will be trying avocado and sweet potato soon : )

My Workout Partner

More iPhone uploads....

Earlier this summer I was working on a workout routine that worked with Kendalyn's nap schedule. I wanted to take morning walks in the neighborhood before the Texas heat hits.

So we got dressed and were ready to go!!

Here legs are blurry because she was moving them around so much.

Her arms were going too. I knew we could take the walk and come back for a nap.

We didn't even get out of the house....

My workout partner did her workout and I was left to watch her nap. I decided to try Zumba. Wow, talk about sweating...I mean "glistening".

Happy 4 Months!!

Happy 4 months!!

July 6,2011

Kendalyn,

You are 4 months now. You change so much every day. Daddy and I enjoy all the new things that you are doing. You make us so happy.

Firsts:
*You received your first sovenior t-shirt. Thanks Uncle Cole : )
*You rolled over on 4th of July.
*You belly laugh. It's the best.
*You started to eat solid foods. Rice cereal, apples, and bananas are on the menu so far.
*You babble and make strawberries with your mouth.
**I'm sure I'm forgetting others.

Here you are watching Sesame Street. I usually have the TV on for background noise. I had finished diaper duty and set you up to sit. While I was wrapping things up I look at you and you are smiling from ear to ear. They were talking about horses; real ones, puppets, cartoons, etc. The segment lasted awhile and you were so into it. You obviously love horses. You may look like momma but you get that love from your daddy.

We love you sweet angel. You are the light of our lives.

Happy 4th of July!!

We had a great 4th of July with Kendalyn and family. It was wonderful to make new traditions with her on this grand holiday. We can't wait until next year!!

Kendalyn's First 4th of July

Kendalyn getting advice from grandpa.

Playing with Grammy

Hugs from Uncle Cole

My Cowboy smoked/cooked brisket and ribs for 14 hours. Even with a baby we haven't pulled all-nighters like that in a L.O.N.G time. Grammy made some great sides. We topped it off with apple pie and Blue Bell Homemade Vanila ice cream. Yum!!

She rolled over for the first time today!!
