We had the party at our neighborhood park. Kendalyn loves the park so we thought it was very fitting.
And when the sun smiled out around 11, I knew it was going to be a great party...except for the wind. But I could only stay praying on my knees for so long. ; )
My parents kept Kendalyn the night before and that morning so we could get things together.
She is one blessed little lady.
The theme was zebra and pink. My aunt Becky helped me tremendously with the decorating. I'm glad I started preparing after Christmas. I must say Pinterest is a terrible, terrible thing. If you follow me on Pinterest you will see the board of 1st birthday pins....terrible think ; )
The kids party favors was candy from the candy bar. We had a variety of ages at the party and I figured this was perfect for all ages : ) I even had little zebra chalkboards tied to some of the jars with sweet sayings like Just a Kiss for Hershey kisses and Our Monkey for Animal Crackers, etc.
So now you can see why my parents had Kendalyn the night before the party. I made cupcakes and K's smash cake. My Cowboy helped too and at 2am we were exhausted.
Kendalyn's cake was organic. I think I have found my true calling as a cake decorator. I must say...before kids...I would have ordered the cake in a heartbeat. But now, I had to make something special for my little girl.
The candle blew out a few times before the cake even got to her due to the wind. But I know she had a good wish. Maybe all of her angels looking down on her made great wishes for her : )
She took a few lickings
Touched it a bit
And wanted to play again, HA! She didn't like her hands so messy, LOL!
The princess was ready to relax in her outdoor rocking chair from her Pawpaw. Her sofa chair from her Yaya and Papa has gotten lots of use out of it lately (pics of that to come: )
My Cowboy and I got her a red wagon, she loves it! I know we will get lots of use out of it this summer.
This little angel had a wonderful birthday surrounded by family and friends. We are so excited to see what this next year holds. Stay tuned for other birthday pictures from the photographer. Yes, we hired a photographer to take pictures. I know he got some great shots and we are in some of them : )
Her shirt was made by Brandy at Sunfire Creations. (Thank you Brandy). Her bow and tutu were made with love by her mommy (LOL!!!)
