Yummy, Yummy In My Tummy!!

On Saturday our Little Lady tried rice cereal for the first time. At 3 1/2 months we thought it would be a good time to start. That way this new momma can track, monitor, and analyze her progress, ha ha!! After much study, discussion and research, Miss Kendalyn was showing signs that she was ready to start solids so we gave it a shot.

Not sure about the first bite...

SHE LOVED IT!!

Proud Daddy and Mommy!!

She is proud of herself.

She even had her first belly laugh while she was eating. I had to tell her to stop laughing so much so she wouldn't choke. She was having such a great time. It might have been because her daddy and I were talking to her in the high pitched baby voices. Which we hardly ever use but it tickled her to death. What an exciting time!!

She has teeth, LOL!!

What a fun first for all!!

Our Baby Girl

at

3 months old

Kendalyn,

You turned 3 months old on June 6th. You have changed so much this month. Mommy and daddy are realizing their newborn is turning into a baby. Each day is a new and exciting day.

At 3 months

* You wear Size 2 diapers
*Size 3-6 month clothes
*You wear Size 0 or 1 shoes
*You drink 5 oz. You've started to push the bottle away with your hand or push the bottle nipple out of your mouth when you are done. You always leave a little bit left in the bottle just like mom does on her plate, LOL!!

*You are working on rolling over.

*You love to stand.

*You love your high chair and the bumbo.

*You smile constantly. We love that.

*You love to be talked to and love to talk.

*You always want to sit up and look around. No baby holding anymore but daddy and I still a few of those holds every now and then.

*You lean to go to the person who wants to hold you.

*You love sitting and listening to books. Mommy loves that!!

*You have a huge personality. You will fuss and fuss but will turn it off and give the biggest smile ever. You make us laugh.

Firsts:

You went swimming in the pool.

You had your first playdate.

You met your Great Grandma S.

You had a date with grandpa.

Grammy and Grandpa watched you for a day.

You have a new friend, Isabelle, the neighbor's granddaughter, who has to see you every time she visits.

You warm our hearts so much. Mommy and daddy enjoy everyday with you because it's a new day of experiences and learning. You are growing in body and in mind.

Kendalyn Nicole...we love you so much. Our life before you was enjoyable and fun but you are an extra bonus to join us on this adventure. Our adventure now is a blessing beyond words.

His 1st Father's Day!!

I loved her first and I held her first

And a place in my heart will always be hers

From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me

I knew the love of a father runs deep

But I loved her first
Lyrics from "I Loved Her First" by Heartland

My Cowboy enjoyed a wonderful breakfast of homemade blueberry pancakes with fresh fruit and bacon. We had my parents over for some barbeque. We were able to see My Cowboy's dad as well. Unfortunately, not under the best circumstances....My Cowboy's grandfather is in the hospital after suffering from a stroke. Please pray for him.

This is a funny picture.....Daddy taking care of Kendalyn while I make breakfast.

HA HA!!
And Miss K needs her own picture. Happy as can be with her rainforest friends.

This has been a wonderful Father's Day. Whether we saw our dad's for a short amount of time or for an entire day, we are blessed with amazing men.

And I had to sneak a picture with the best gift in the world.

We are blessed to have this joy in our lives.

Kendalyn's 3 month pictures are ready. I can't wait to share them.

A Trip to the Doctor

While daddy was on vacation a few weeks ago, he was able to do the honors and take Kendalyn for her 2 month doctor appointment and the dreaded shots. I was happy he was willing to take on this task. The PKU test when she was a newborn was enough for me.

Mommy dressed her nice and cute for her appointment to see the dr.

Our big girl is getting ready to be measured. She is S--t--r--e--t--c---hing to get ready.

Dr. S is writing everything down. I had a list of questions dad had to ask the dr while he was there. She answered all of my questions and gave My Cowboy all of the things she wrote down. I was so excited to have all of the information about the appointment. Yes, it was studied and analyzed once I got home ; )

Working on lifting her head after Dr. S checked her back, legs, and hips. Our dr. is very thorough and never hesitates to listen to a question. Dr. S even came back to the room for a few more questions/clarifications without hesitation when the appointment was over. I love that!!

This picture got out of order. This is K before Dr. S came to the room. WE are the parents who ask for the first appointment of the day and to be put into a private room to wait for the doctor. Unfortunately, it's right around nap time so Kendalyn gets a little snooze time while waiting.

Our Dr. S, oh how we love her. And she loves Miss K too.

Bumbo Time!

I'm slowly getting all of our memories with Kendalyn onto the blog. I absolutely have been LOVING this time with her. So between naps I've been trying to get the homestead back in order. By the time I get everything in order the summer will be over, HA!!

About three weeks ago we tried out the good old Bumbo to see how Miss K would do and we got this!!
She has always been a strong girl.

Gotta love those curled toes

After a few minutes, we got this...

Our attention span is short so mom and dad are always entertaining somehow.

LOVE this smile!!

Our weekends have been consisting of trying to stay cool. We've had the occasional errands to run but in 100 degree tempartures there is not much you can do with a 3 month old. This weekend we took a trip to the neighborhood pool and took Kendalyn's 3 month pictures. Pictures to come. I'm so excited!! : )

Rockin' Her New Kicks

Our precious little lady

has been sporting SHOES!!!!

Since being behind on blogging I haven't posted when Kendalyn wore shoes for the 1st time. She wore a pair of sandals to town. When I put them on her I sat on her bedroom floor and cried. My Cowboy walked in asking what was wrong...you should have seen his face when I told him I was crying over shoes.

Wearing the tennis shoes was the second time we added shoes to her fashion.

Kendalyn has always worn something on her feet when we are out in public. I feel in love with the Trumpette socks even before I had her. So when we found out we were having a girl buying these socks was one of the first things we did.

We received many shoes from family and friends. We've had a great time matching her shoes and outfits. It won't be long and she'll be using her shoes to walk, OH MY!!!

My New Bling Bling!

Kendalyn got her ears pierced a couple weeks ago. She has done really well with them. I think she is adorable.

After a bath, they have to get nice and cleaned

Sporting her bling bling to her Rainforest Friends.

She loves her Rainforest Bouncer. Thanks Mrs. Terrie for letting us borrow it.

Check out my bling!!

Happy 2 months!!

Kendalyn,

You turned 2 months old on May 6th. Here's what you've been up to:

*You love to talk. You say your vowels (a,e,i,o,u) regularly. Mom loves it when you say "AAA" because then I follow it with "AAA, Aggies"
*You suck on your left fist and play with your hair with your right hand.
*You kick your arms and legs all the time.
*You have been holding your head up since Memorial Weekend. You've always been good and strong with your neck and head muscles but on this particular weekend we noticed you were very steady and wanted to sit up and look around more and more.
*You are more observant of your hands.
*You rub your eyes when you get sleepy.
*You play with your tongue.
*You are drooling and you make bubbles with your mouth.
*You are pushing up on tummy time.
*You love the Rainforest Bouncy from Mrs. Terrie. You didn't like the Little Lamb one.

The firsts:
*You have gone to the family property in Crockett. You loved being out in the woods. You ate in town at the Moosehead Cafe. All of the hometown people loved you.
*You stayed at the sitters for a few days.
*You went to mommy's work.
*You spent a week with daddy.
*You got your EARS PIERCED*

**You are 11 pounds and wearing 3 month clothes. Mom cried when she put on your first pair of shoes. We see that you are growing out of your newborn stage but we get so excited to see all of the new things you do each day.

We love you Little Missy!!

A Week with Mrs. Kynsley

Kendalyn enjoyed a week with Mrs. Kynsley and her daughter Addison when I went back to work. I've known this family for a few years as I've taught their son and daughter. I love how everything comes back full circle because I know that Kynsley will teach Kendalyn so much.

Kynsley came by to meet Kendalyn when she was a few weeks old. I think it was love at first sight. Kendalyn took very well to Kynsley and that made this mommy very happy. Kynsley has the mommy touch with three children of her own.

Kendalyn is so little in the above picture and now next to Addison (below) she looks like she can hold her own.

We saw a big change in Kendalyn's facial expressions. When you have a cute two year old around you learn alot. We know these two are going to be great friends.

Kendalyn's crazy momma (LOL) had to make sure everything was just right for her time away from home. I packed the quilt her great grandmother gave her. I just knew the scent and comfort of home would be right with her.

Kynsley's house is close to school so Kendalyn had many trips to see momma. This was on Field Day. It was hot and the kids were bouncing around and my child...sleeps ; )

Addison interacts with Kendalyn so much. She loves to feed her.

Smiles for mom and dad. We loved how Kynsley sent these first time parents videos and pictures throughout the day.

I learned that Kendalyn can be comfortable anywhere if she needs a good nap. I received this picture one afternoon at school from Kynsley and thought oh she feel asleep on a cozy brown blanket like the one she has at home. When I got to Kynsley's I learned it was a burnt orange blanket, ugh. : ) My baby bleeds maroon, WHOOP!! HA HA!!

Addison is reading to Kendalyn. K is blurry because her hands and feet are movin' and groovin'. That's Our Girl!!

Kendalyn also practiced sitting up in the cool zebra chair.

Chillin' with Addison

And of course one day...she dressed to match

We can't wait to see what Kendalyn learns when she goes back to Mrs. K's in August.
