Summer Photo Dump

It's so hard to believe that summer is almost over.  Well, for me I guess.  New adventures start for us next week so I thought I would literally dump a few highlights of the summer that I haven't blogged about.  (Yes, my idea of blogging everyday with things we did and receipes we tried flaked out)

Father's Day 2012 with Papa and Maw
Yes, we have gone from calling my mom....Mimi, Grandma, and Yaya to Maw or Momo.  I think when Kendalyn saw the commercial with the Yaya she got confused.

Checking out the fish at Bass Pro Shop.
K got her first fishing pole this summer.  We haven't used it yet though.

We are working on potty training.
Then I remembered how school said we have to get rid of the b-o-tt-le and I thought this baby can't go through the trauma of no bottle and then potty training.  (Oh, maybe that is me)  So we backed off on the potty training and got the bottle thing complete.  Our new goal is the 3 day potty training...maybe, if you have suggestions, please share.

We need to love on this rascal more.
He is the biggest baby around ; )

We had a plentiful garden.
We will be pulling things out of the garden this weekend and planting again.  We have one more chance of tomatoes and peppers before we can completely do a fall garden.

We learned to express ourselves and be creative.
I think Kendalyn feels her hair tickling her neck and thinks its her shirt.  But actually this baby girl has long curls.  : )
So many times she has rocked the one shoulder look.

And all summer I sat back and played, laughed, loved on, and enjoyed every moment with my baby girl.

This has been a wonderful summer and we can't wait for what's ahead on our trail.

BOOM!

Last year we experienced a horrible drought and wildfires.  This year we are having flooding and cool weather.

We still have to recoup from the drought as we find dead trees around the yard.  We have three that need to be cut.

Last weekend my Cowboy and I worked on getting this tree down.  We did a little research because we didn't want it to hit the fence, the neighbor's carport or the house!

I will miss this tree because we planted a Kendalyn garden between this tree and another for her to see flowers bloom.  It also housed a woodpecker family.  Now we need a plan B.

The ground was soggy and wet from our rains.  So we put on our boots  : )

My Cowboy hung the rope and tied it to a tree across the yard.

As Cowboy sawed the tree I had to hang on the rope.  Actually I had to sit on the rope to make it go the way we wanted it to which meant towards ME!!  Then I hauled hiney to take cover, LOL!

Missy wanted to play in the water.  It was a hot one.

 Cowboy's oh-so-precise cut

K was in her exersaucer in the shed.  We wanted her protected.  I guess you do what you got to do.  : )

 And down she goes.

 All in a day's work.

Then it poured down rain.  We enjoyed the cool rain and relaxed inside for the rest of the day, HA!!

First Family Trip

We went a few weeks ago to East Texas.  We were able to stay at the family house and make day trips.  It was perfect for a busy toddler.  However, the Texas weather did get hot so we came home early.

Here's a few pics of our fun time.

Loaded up and ready to head out  : )

Our first stop for ice and drinks.  We made like 4 stops on a normal 2 hour trip.  I tell ya busy toddler  ; )

One of the stops was to Tarjay (last minute run for diapers, mom forgot...oops).  Daddy picked up a shirt for his girl's love of $e$ame $treet.  So sweet.

 Wonderful daddy

Once we got to the house we unloaded and set up for the night.

We woke up bright and early for a country breakfast and a trip to the Lufkin Zoo.

This was Little Missy's first time to a zoo and she loved it.

Mommy and daddy loved this place too because it was not crowded and we were able to get up close to many of the animals.

The only thing between us and the flamingos was a rope, no joke.

Peacocks were EVERYWHERE!!!  They would walk down the sidewalk with you.

 Checking out the turtles.

 Lizards

Monkeys or as K likes to call them "daddy" because he always calls her his climbing monkey, HA HA!!!

My two loves with the Alligators/Crocodiles, not really sure but love this pic

I think daddy got a lesson on them  ; )

They had a huge bird cage.  You could walk in and see many species of birds.  SO fun.

 Train!!

 So the peacocks were close....

 very, very, very close

On her way to the lions, tigers, and giraffes, OH MY!  They did not have any bears.

A small pond divided us between the giraffes.

 Peacocks  : )

I think Kendalyn knows every animal at the zoo.  She will be well prepared for school in August.  Now we need to work on colors and shapes, it's the important things in life that you need to know about  : )

 What a great family time!

Love!!!  On Zoo Day, Kendalyn turned 16 months old!!  Happy Birthday Sweet Girl! (post to come)

And the best part of the trip....K was sick the week after we got back ; (
If every trip is like that we won't ever go back!!  HA!!

We are still here!!

Whoa!  I can't believe so much has come and gone.  Father's Day, 4th of July, and our First Family Vacation to East Texas.  I have a month left of summer break and I'm ready to check off my To Do List.

This is a sneak peek at our 16 month old, (WoW!!!!!) at the Lufkin Zoo.  I do have to say I've spent some time soaking in this growing little girl.
Lots of pictures and posts to come.
